Our story

A small wooden corner on Laugavegur

Wooden Corner Iceland, or Viðarhornið, is a little shop run by Sylwia Olszewska, full of handmade things for cozy homes: wooden rolling pins and cookie stamps engraved in Poland, ceramics and felt decorations. We choose every piece ourselves.

You will find Kashubian folk flowers next to Dala horses, snowflakes, puffins and Icelandic staves. Come and see them in our shop in the heart of Reykjavík, or order online and we will send them to you.

How it works

Sharp patterns in three steps

Works with most cookie doughs that hold their shape: shortbread, gingerbread, sugar cookies.

  1. Dust with flourLightly flour the rolling pin or stamp and the rolled-out dough, so nothing sticks in the pattern.
  2. Press once, firmlyRoll in one steady pass, or press the stamp straight down. Going over it twice blurs the design.
  3. Chill, then bakePut the cut cookies in the fridge for 15–30 minutes before baking. The pattern stays crisp in the oven.
